Lamb Chops with Redcurrant and Mint Sauce Meal Plan

This meal plan will suit those with advanced kidney disease or those who require a daily intake of 1738kcals and 64 g of protein. Please compare the full analysis and/ or Kidney Diet Allowances with your individual allowances. Your Kidney (Renal) Dietitian will help you to do this.




  • 1 medium bowl (45g) of cornflakes served with 100ml of whole milk
  • Cup of black tea or add milk substitute

  • ½ dairy exchange
    Mid Morning
  • 1 medium pear, chopped and mixed with ½ pot of fruit yoghurt
  • Cup of black tea or add milk substitute

  • 1 fruit , ½ dairy
    Main Meal
  • Lamb Chops with Redcurrant and Mint Sauce
  • Served with 200g / 2 medium low potassium potatoes & 1 portion (100g) of boiled green beans
  • 1 x Meringue Nest served with 1 tablespoon whipped cream & 8 small strawberries (chopped)

    Mid Afternoon
  • 2 Ginger Nut biscuits
  • Evening Meal
  • Chicken Salad Sandwich*
  • Cup of black tea or add milk substitute
  • 2 slices of white bread, 1 level tablespoon of mayonnaise, 1oz (25g) cooked chicken, 3 lettuce leaves, 2 slices of cucumber, ½ small tomato and 1 slice of onion, chopped

  • 1 vegetable, 1 protein
    Before Bed
  • 1 slice of white toast buttered with reduced fat spread & marmalade
  • Cup of black tea or add milk substitute
